SECTORS

Expand your sector to see what Drones can do for you

Building Construction Timeline – Repeat visits to the same GPS location can give a great indication of how a project is progressing over time, a Contractor could request Fly3D visit a site once every month to take the same photo, giving a timelapse from whatever views are required.

Spoil Heap Analysis – We can quickly revisit the same GPS Coordinates to record the same data to compare like for like 3D terrain for example by undertaking volumetric studies of say spoil removal over time.

Surveys – An initial survey of an existing building or asset will help inform you at tender stage of any issues that need mitigated. The imagery and data captured by this survey could help decide,  if you are caught in a Bid / No Bid scenario.

Earthworks take off – Whenever there is a site to be cleared of soil, there is a cost associated with the moving of earth from that site. Using drones to produce 3D point Cloud data and Digital Elevation Models we can quickly do take offs to determine area and volume of soil / debri to be removed, thus giving you a more accurate appreciation on what has to be moved, therefore how many truck loads to be removed.

Inspections– Tower Crane Inspections , Scaffolding Inspections, existing asset inspection to determine work required.

Visuals – Imagery or Video to help visitors visualise your Site from an induction point of view, Imagery used for marketing purposes is an essential way to record your portfolio these days.

Health and Safety – Potentially reduces the need for operatives working at height.

Collaboration – We can issue data and imagery in many different file formats suitable for most BIM and CAD Authoring Software.

Digital Elevation Models – Using Photogrammetry we can create Digital Elevation Models ( DEM ) or Digital Terrain Model ( DTM ) from the imagery taken from the drone. DEMS or DTM will be used for various reasons, as part of a GIS Workflow or establishing chainage for roadway / railway construction etc.Topography models such as DEM/DTM can be used to determine flood analysis, they can be used for more accurate quantity take off and measuring, they can be used as part of a visualisation study or environmental impact study.

Inspections – Infrastructure Inspections from ground or air no matter what your asset, be it existing or in progress. Where you may have to have closed a road, partly or fully in order to get in some expensive rental plant, or put up scaffolding to inspect an area in your asset, this is no longer required, we can generally give you the information you require without disruption, or at least inform you better before you need to commit to a disruption.

Hydrology – This includes the movement and distribution of the earth’s water network, we can create accurate models of burns, rivers, reservoirs, dams to help you determine your water and storm surge analysis.

Construction Progress – Using the same GPS location each time, you can track progress of an asset’s construction such as Roads, Waterways, Rail lines.

Site Planning –  Civil Engineering project as we know can be hugs in terms of physical area covered, we can easily fly over your site to capture not only progress, but to help track equipment, materials, spoil analysis on site as it progresses and react accordingly by establishing more efficient workflows.

Surveys – As part of a proposal for an existing building, there will be no doubt a requirement for some sort of survey to take place externally or internally to ascertain the constraints of your building or asset before design begins, we, for the most part, negate scaffolding or costly plant equipment at the first pass at a survey, we can generate models from our data to help you decide what path your design will take.

Line of Sight Analysis – Placing the drone at the future elevation of your proposed building will create an informed image of what you would see from that height, will there be privacy issues etc.

Master Planning – Drone imagery and data can help inform what impact a master plan may have

Thermal Imagery – Using specialist sensors on our quadcopters we can produce aerial thermal imaging that will help indicate that an area of your building or asset has been completed incorrectly, or is losing heat due to the age of that asset, it will help generate Home Reports or Building Condition reports with a greater degree of accuracy when it comes to Energy Analysis.

Dilapidation Reports – Surveying assets from both ground and air can help paint the bigger picture of the state of this asset in terms of work needing to be done, or to satisfy Insurance adjustment claims.

Data Capture – Survey revisits can be a costly business using visual survey helps negate the need for a revisit by capturing using images and videos, even the creation of 3D Mapping can be accomplished using aerial mapping techniques.

Mapping –  A lot of drones at the moment capture imagery from the air, thats all well and good, but what if you wanted to capture beneath the tree canopy ? Aerial  LIDaR is getting far more cost effective due to the reduction in sensor sizes, we can fly over forestry whilst maintaining Visual Line of Sight and due to LIDaR being a combination of Radar and Imagery we can help capture those points on the ground much easier than using imagery alone.

Boundary Checks – Confirmation of boundaries can be flown very quickly and measured from the resultant imagery.

Storm Damage – To establish storm damage to a forest we can fly over and get a better idea of the scale of damage caused to the FC Assets, not only the trees, but the paths and access roads through the forests.

Major Events – There may be a time where the expertise of our drone operators are called upon to help out in a major events scenario, or even to record any type of major events testing regime for breakdown at a later stage, rest assured we have the expertise to aid in this if required.

Claims Adjustment –  Fantastic savings can be made using drone technology to accurately capture farms, roofs, building conditions which are too high, too dangerous or too remote for a Claims Adjuster to visit. Along with the ability to generate 3D Data from the imagery captured, you will have a desktop survey in front of you to interrogate the data you need to adjust your insurance claims. Drone usage in the Insurance sector will be huge.

Insurance Claim Validation – Something not quite right about a claim ? Why not send us out to offer you a better perspective on your claim, How Much of the roof was damaged ? Where exactly did the tree fall ? How many acres of  crops were destroyed through the gale ? Through various means, from imagery to mapping, we can help you determine the accuracy of a claim.

Boundary Conditions – Are clients land boundaries being contested ? We can fly the perimeter of those boundaries and do perimeter, area or indeed volume calculations to ascertain boundary conditions.

Site Analysis – You can use Google Earth to determine the site in the context of it’s surroundings, but given  the resolution of these images from Google Earth, and the age of these maps, you may miss something important that could did miss the site as a viable option for your development. Why not utilise high resolution imagery for analysis of your potential asset.
